Griffith's old ambulance station up for auction

Located directly opposite Griffith Visitor Information Centre, the historic building would make a great fit for a potential business owner or investor wanting a site in the heart of the city.

Griffith Real Estate’s Brian Bertolin says the location and historic value of the property is what makes it truly shine.

“We’re really happy at the office to be able to market it,” Mr Bertolin said.

“It’s such a historic building and in three weeks of marketing we’ve seen a volume of people coming through to look at it.

“The location of it and the history attached has really got investors, local and out of Griffith, interested in acquiring this site.”

The building was vacated by NSW Ambulance 18 months ago, during their relocation to a new premises on Wakaden Street.

The old site, comprised of two brick homes adjoined by a large undercover garage, has potential for either residential or commercial use.

“It does open a lot of doors for a lot of people to do different things with it,” Mr Bertolin said.

“We’ve had people that were involved with the building of it come through, a lot of memories for the town I suppose.”

“We’re excited for the auction, it’s going to be a good day,” agent Nick Chauhan added.

“We’ll be doing it on site, everyone’s welcome to come have a look.”

Griffith’s old ambulance station was originally built in 1959, cementing itself as an icon along Banna Avenue and symbolising the city’s growth since that time.

During the three-week lifespan of its market listing, a total of 50 inspections have been conducted at the premises.

The final auction will be held on September 5 at 10am, with social distancing implemented to ensure public safety.
