Countryside shack listed for around the same price as a new Ford Ranger... but you can't live there

A plot of land with a shack in rural NSW is for sale and is marketed as a “getaway block”.

Located at Railway Parade in the town of Henty, the property consists of a derelict iron cottage on a block of 3237 square metres.

The $50,000 price guide may be appealing to some, equating to around the same price as a new Ford Ranger, however there’s a catch… you can’t live on the property.

There’s no residential zoning with the land classified as rural zoned. Agent Brian Liston of Nutrien Harcourts

Albury suggests on the listing it could be a weekend camping spot.

A dilapidated iron shed is surrounded by loose wooden palings and overgrown weeds.

The listing reveals that the shed is at least 50 years old and is in need of major TLC.

Around 2000 square metres of the land is fenced and there is a creek nearby, further stipulating the fact that you cannot build a house.

Agent Liston suggests on the listing that the land could be used as an ideal “getaway for camping on weekends or for livestock”.

Surrounded by red gum trees and bushland, the property offers a peaceful setting for those wanting to escape the hustle and bustle of city life.

Henty is located halfway between Albury and Wagga Wagga in rural New South Wales.
